⚠️ Important Information (Please Read)

Security and Risk Notice

  1. Antivirus warnings: Because wproxy supports network tunneling and remote access, some antivirus programs (such as 360 and Windows Defender) may flag it as a risk. Rest assured that this tool is used only as a network proxy and does not collect your private information. Before running it, we recommend temporarily disabling your antivirus software or adding the file to its allowlist.
  2. Access scope: While running, the tool only provides access to the local network your computer is on, so technical staff can access the industrial gateway's management interface or data endpoints.
  3. Close it manually: Once troubleshooting is complete, close the tool's window to disconnect. We will no longer be able to access your network.

💡 Typical Use Case: Troubleshooting an Offline Gateway Remotely

If the gateway on site cannot access the internet and we therefore cannot connect to it directly, use the following mobile-hotspot bridge:

Steps

  1. Prepare the equipment:
  • Have a laptop with a wireless network adapter ready.
  • Connect the laptop's Ethernet port to the industrial smart gateway (or the switch the gateway is connected to) with an Ethernet cable.
  1. Establish a network connection:
  • Enable the personal hotspot on your phone.
  • Connect the laptop to the phone's hotspot and make sure the laptop can access the internet.
  1. Run the tool:
  • Download the wproxy program for your operating system.
  • Windows users: Double-click to run it.
  • Linux/Mac users: Open a terminal and run:
bash
chmod +x wproxy.bin # (or wproxy.mac)
./wproxy.bin
  1. Share the connection information:
  • When the tool runs, it displays a unique connection ID or status information.
  • Send a screenshot of the window or the ID to our technical support staff.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why won't it run after I download it?

A: Check whether security software has blocked it. On Linux/Mac, make sure you have run chmod +x to grant execute permission.

Q: Is my computer still secure after I exit?

A: wproxy does not stay running in the background. Once you close its window, all remote tunnels close immediately, and no one can access your network through this connection.
